Indianapolis Jan 21 - David P. Heffner died suddenly yesterday afternoon on Tacoma Avenue near the home.  He was recover from a long illness and had started to walk from his home, 1222 N Tacoma Avenue to a barber shop on 10th Street when he was stricken with heart failure.  Before physicians could reach him he had expired.  He had been employed successfully several years by Havens & Gedden as adjuster.  He had been in ill health several months and discontinued work six weeks ago.  Recently, however, he appeared to be recovering and had expected to resume his duties next week.  Mr. Heffner was 56 years old last Wednesday. He was born at Germantown, Ohio but had lived in Indiana since young manhood.  For a number of years he was in business at Hillsboro and Veedersburg having organized the Veedersburg bank.  After coming to Indianapolis he assisted in organizing the Centenary Christian Church on East 10th street and at the time of his death was an elder of that congregation.  He is survived by his widow, one daughter Miss Leola Heffner and his father, Henry H. Heffner who made his home with him.  A short funeral service will be held at the home at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning and the body will be taken to Waynetown Ind for burial in the afternoon.  DP Heffner was a son-in-law of Mrs. JR Coons of this city being married to Miss Frances Graham 30 years ago.- kbz
